Animal welfare is our priority

Built from the ground up for calm, comfortable journeys

Animals are never cargo to us. Every detail — from trailer design to how we speak to them on loading — is chosen to eliminate fear and stress.

Real journey, real animals — low-ramp boarding keeps loading calm and injury-free.
01
Low Loading Ramp

Animals step on calmly rather than being lifted or forced up steep slopes — eliminating the biggest cause of loading injuries.

02
Non-Slip Rubber Floor

Stable footing throughout the journey so animals stand confident, never sliding or injuring joints.

03
Adjustable Partitions

Interior pens configured to the size and mix of animals on board — no overcrowding, no jostling.

04
Controlled Ventilation

Roof vents and inspection flaps maintain fresh air flow and comfortable temperatures in every season.

"Calm handling, every mile."

The story behind DAF'S

Two decades on the road, one simple promise

My name is David Ellams — "Daf". I've spent most of my life working with farm and domestic animals. After decades in farming, livestock and animal transport, DAF'S was built from a passion for animal welfare and a commitment to helping owners move their animals safely across the UK.

This business wouldn't exist without the support and encouragement of my late partner, Cathrin Arianwen "Mair" Jones — a much-loved partner whose kindness, support and love for animals helped shape the journey that became DAF'S.

"Animals don't read timetables — that's why we take as long as it takes."

Today DAF'S trades under CAE SALLY ANIMAL RESCUE LTD (company number 15764863, incorporated June 2024), registered in Wales. Alongside commercial transport we move rescue animals in distress — often at no or reduced cost — and we're currently raising funds for a 4×4 to reach more of them.

In loving memory

Cathrin Arianwen "Mair" Jones — every welfare-first decision we make carries her influence.

Giving back

Transport for the rescue of animals in distress

CAE SALLY ANIMAL RESCUE LTD is the trading entity behind DAF'S, dedicated to welfare beyond commerce. We provide free and subsidised transport for animals being saved from poor conditions, surrendered, or moved between rescue partners — because distance should never stand between an animal and safety.

Our current goal: purchase a 4×4 vehicle so we can tow larger trailers safely in all weather, rescuing more animals in one run and reaching remote farms the van alone can't handle.

Every donation — £5 to £500 — goes towards the rescue vehicle and covering transport costs for animals in distress.
